Professional Work
Dr. Peter Charron is an eye doctor in Bellingham, WA. He moved to Washington in 2010 after practicing optometry for 2 years in Rhode Island. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, then earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2008. He has wanted to be an Optometrist ever since he was introduced to vision therapy in college.
In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Charron frequently guest lectures on vision disorders, sharing his expertise with undergraduate and graduate students in his local community. He offers expert witness services, including comprehensive record reviews and professional legal deposition and trial testimonies, specifically tailored for legal disputes in the eye and vision care field. Finally, he performs medical chart reviews for fellow eye care professionals in federally-funded health centers nationwide.
Fellowship Training in Vision Therapy (FOVDR)
In 2014, he earned a Board Certification with the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association which requires passing written and oral exams, and over 100 hours of additional coursework in vision therapy related material. He is the only eye care professional in Whatcom & Skagit County to hold this credential.

Dr. Charron is a member of many organizations including the Optometric Extension Program the College of Vision Development and the Learning Disabilities Association of Washington.
Dr. Charron's Outside Interests
Outside of the office, Dr. Charron has lots of different hobbies and interests. Aside from enjoying most of his time with his wife and two kids, he likes to run, read books, turn wrenches on the family cars, sing in church choir, watch his children's sports teams, and enjoy our beautiful natural scenery.
